: The problem with the Florida recount request by the Democrats was that supposedly the votes needed to be hand counted because there machines had a margin for error, and a way to overcome the error in such a close election, a hand recount would correct this. That is one of the sorryiest mistake we could have ever allowed to happen. If the allegation is that the machines have a high margin for error in Florida, then it is also the same margin all over the United States of America where they use the same machines. To agree with this proposterous notion would be to condem the elections throughout the U.S. of A. We all know that there is a margin for error, but when it is accross the board, it becomes negligable, and there is no advantage for either candidate. When we allowed the hand recounts to occur without clear standards, then we just comprimised the whole election.
: Further recounts after manual recount after manual recount by the now circuit court cannot guarantee the American public that these ballotts have not been comprimised since the election. I am not saying that deep down we can not be honest, but there were many citezens frustrated with the procedures of the last three weeks post election. Anger causes us to react in imperfect ways at times. The best and only fair way to check the recounts is to carry out an impartial machine recount. That is the truth.
: Furthermore, the prevention of Military absentee ballots to be counted and accounted for due to minute errors is an insult to all of our American heroes who have bled for our freedom. Never in the history of our nation has any political party given such explicit instructions on how to invalidate Military votes than in the case of our current Election. This is truly an outrage, and I am ashamed to be an American today. We should be ashamed to have allowed highly paid politicians to succed in this effort. For all those who would equate a questionable intent of a voter to a missing postmark on an absentee ballot, you are truly wrong, and have obviously taken this great and wonderful country for granted.
: To my Honorable Vice President Al Gore, and The Honorable Senator J. Lieberman, I appeal to your sense of honor, and dignity. Leave quietly so that you may fight another day. Leave before you destroy our wonderful nation. Because of you, our economy is in desperate need of repair, and americans are once again fighting with americans as in the Civil War.
